Below is a description of the ideal person:

you have a sufficient understanding of networking and can design network topology, configure network devices, and subsequently diagnose and fix potential network issues
you understand storage technologies, protocols and APIs (e.g., OpenEBS, NFS, MinIO), can design their usage, deploy them in production and manage them
you have experience with virtualization (we currently use VMWare and KVM) — you will collaborate with the systems administrators team
you have experience configuring and managing Linux — in our new IaC we build images with Packer, configure using cloud-init and SaltStack, and deploy into virtualization via Terraform
experience using, installing and configuring git repositories and CI/CD tooling — we mainly use GitLab and its pipelines
IaC tools SaltStack and Terraform (or alternatives: Ansible, Chef, Pulumi...)

management of infrastructure for centralized logging, ideally FluentD or fluent-bit, OpenTelemetry, ElasticSearch and Kibana

infrastructure for distributed tracing — in our case we build it on OTEL
monitoring infrastructure such as Prometheus + Grafana + Alertmanager
containerization technologies like Docker, containerd, Cloud Native Buildpacks
management of repositories for software artifacts: Nexus and Harbor (or their alternatives)
operation of messaging middleware — Kafka, Zookeeper, Schema Registry
you can run on-premise Kubernetes in production quality including CNI, CSI, service mesh, RBAC, etc.
you have experience with production management of on-premise Kubernetes and a platform built on it, defining best practices and policies, day-2 operations and supporting development teams
you have designed, deployed and managed on-premise cloud infrastructure such as OpenStack or CloudStack
programming languages such as Go and Python, and you can debug the commonly implemented DevOps toolset in them; if needed you can modify them or implement new custom tooling
